Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Deputy Administrator Mocha Uson recently urged Filipinos to unite and not to politicize the issue of the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in the Philippines.
Using her Twitter account (Mocha Uson Blog @MochaUson), the OWWA official said: “Sana ay magtulungan nalang kesa sa pinupulitika pa ang mga ganitong bagay.”
However, hours later, Uson seemingly contradicted herself when she posted: “#OUSTLENI2020 trending na. Ang tanung ibabalita kaya ito ng mga mahilig sa meryenda ni Leni?”
The said tweet came after the call for #OustDuterte became trending on Twitter in light of the government’s slow response toward the virus outbreak. DOH has already confirmed one nCoV-related death in the country, making it the first mortality outside China where the virus allegedly originated.
Instead of focusing on her Twitter account, why not Uson just prepare for the arrival of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who are repatriating from China this week? Shouldn’t it be more important for her as one of the highest officials in OWWA?
And which Mocha Uson is more credible? The one who is calling for unity or the one who is playing politics?
