Duterte picks ex-CJ Bersamin as new GSIS chair

Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin has been appointed by President Duterte to be the new chairperson of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

In 1973, Bersamin graduated at the University of the East. After taking the bar exam, he was the 9th-topnotcher overall.

He was a judge in Branch 96 of the Quezon City Regional Trial Court from 1986 which later on was appointed as an associate justice at the Court of Appeals and has been raised his position as the chief justice of the Supreme Court in 2009, spending his decade working.

As of the moment, Bersamin will replace Ronald Macasaet who served as the officer-in-charge of GSIS.
