Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) immigration officers barred a Swede man and his three companions from entering the Philippines after they were discovered suspected as terrorists.
Bureau of Immigration (BI) Operations Division Chief Griton Medina stated that the foreigners arrived at NAIA Terminal 1 on February 5 from Singapore.
BI did not disclose the names of the alleged terrorists. The information aligns with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) has, describing the alleged involvement in terrorist activities of the foreign nationals.
“He is just one of the thousands of international terrorists whose names were included in the shared database containing information supplied by the various law enforcement and intelligence agencies here and abroad,” Medina said.
Meanwhile, Medina explained that the BI has an authority to refuse the entry of foreigners who have an alleged link or association with terror groups.
